So Bethany is my cousin. We grew up in a big family. We had lots of cousins, lots of uncles. Bethany would brighten up a room with her smile. She is the good of this world.

It was a family friend of Bethany’s and he was on his second DUI. You’re never really prepared to be told that your loved one has been killed. She was just critically important to our family.

Bringing Awareness to Other Families

Nothing can be done to fix that other than bringing awareness to other people, other families, and anyone that might be watching this. Impaired driving is 100% preventable. People make a choice to drive. Driving high is driving impaired.

How Cannabis Affects Your Reflexes and Judgment

Your reflexes aren’t as strong. Smoking cannabis is no different than drinking a beer, driving down the road. It is impairing your ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. Think about making a left hand turn in front of oncoming driving. So you’re going this way, a car’s coming this way, but you are gonna turn left. Your judgment of distance, your judgment on their speed, all of that is slowed down dramatically.

Tools to Eliminate Impaired Driving

We have all the tools in the world to ensure that impaired driving does not exist. We just need to socially accept that and make it a priority. It doesn’t matter what your age is, you can choose not to get in that car. You can choose to not smoke and drive. You can choose to do the right thing. When we have a responsibility to share this road in the most responsible way possible and that is not driving impaired. You can do it. We all can do it, and we can make the road safer. In Illinois,

not having someone like Bethany is a tragedy that is totally preventable. And even though her life was cut short, her memory lives on her story will inspire others to not drive impaired. She was an important person. She deserves to be, to be seen. She deserves to have visitors. She deserves to not be forgotten. I haven’t forgotten about you. I’m.
