Privacy Policy
Effective October 12, 2026
The If You’re High, It’s Still a DUI campaign website, stilladui.org (the “Site”), is operated by the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association (“ISA,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the Site collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We will not use or disclose personally identifiable information about you without your consent, except as described in this policy or as required by law.
Information you choose to give us
You can view the Site without registering or giving us any personal information. The only personal information we collect is what you choose to send through our contact form: your first and last name, email address, and message. We use it to read and respond to your message, or to provide what you asked us for.
Information collected automatically
Analytics. We use Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to understand how visitors use the Site, such as which pages are viewed, how visitors arrive, and general device and location information. Google collects this information using cookies and similar technologies, and we review it in aggregate to improve the campaign. You can learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Spam protection. To keep the contact form free of spam, submissions are checked by Akismet and Google reCAPTCHA. These services may process your form entries, IP address, and browser information for that purpose.
Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting providers automatically record standard technical information, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, to operate and protect the Site. Some fonts on the Site load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when a page loads.
Cookies
The Site uses cookies for essential functions, such as remembering your privacy choices, and for analytics. When you first visit, a notice explains our use of cookies and lets you record your choice. You can also delete or block cookies, or be warned before they are stored, through your browser settings.
Embedded videos
The campaign videos are hosted on YouTube. To protect your privacy, a video does not load until you choose to play it. Once a video loads, YouTube (Google) may collect information and set cookies under Google’s Privacy Policy.
How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site, such as our website host and our analytics and spam-protection providers, and only as needed for them to provide those services. We require them to keep the information confidential and secure and to use it only as we authorize. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety of any person.
Links to other websites
The Site links to other websites, including news articles, government sources, and the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association website. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and we are not responsible for them.
Children
This campaign speaks to teens and young drivers, but the Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The Site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and we use reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards to protect the information we collect. No website can guarantee complete security.
Your choices
To review, update, or ask us to delete information you sent through the contact form, please contact us using the details below.
